The Light of the Lighthouse

"The Light of the Lighthouse" path at the length of 5,5 km will bring the interested near to the extraordinary treasures of nature of the Gardno-Łebsko Spit. Information charts at the consecutive stoppages present flora and fauna of the plant groups which existence is combined with the seaside zone. Descriptions and photographs will enable to familiarise with both common and protected species of plants and animals. On the route of a wander there are situated the structures connected with the cultural and material heritage of the Slovinian Land.
While wandering on the determined route we will pay attention to:
- Clear, streaked arrangement of seaside plants from the pine-woods (crowberry, heath, cup-moss) throughout the grey and white dunes and the beach.
- Plants species accompanying the human being, dune and peat-bog species;
- Lichens and pine species;
- Fauna of the seaside and the pine-woods;
- Former lighthouse keepers' settlement, sea lighthouse in Czołpino and the sea rescue station
- Conception explanations: synanthropic plants, psammophites, "kidzina", sandbank, lagoon and pebble.
The path might be visited individually or in organised groups. The wander on the route will facilitate a guide-book with stoppage descriptions and scenarios proposal for teachers, which is accessible at the information points. On the route, the sea lighthouse in Czołpino is worth visiting. This navigation structure of the Maritime Office in Ustka, situated on the highest dune, is open from June to August at 10.00 - 19.00, in other terms - after telephone reservation: 059 81 17 345. There is an admission entry according to the rates settled by the Maritime Office.
