Gardnieńskie Lęgi

Reeds, reed warblers, warblers.An exceptional nature path (ornithological, 5 km, 3 hours), of which the main assignment is to present variety of birds' settlements upon the Gardno Lake. The beginning of the route is placed in the village of Gardna Wielka near the fishing landing-stage, however the finish is located near the view-platform upon the bay of the Gardno Lake.
The path runs through open, woodless terrains situated on the eastern side of the lake and enables the observation of the winged residents of pastures, meadows and periodically flooded polders. During the terrain classes, the Park employee discusses the factors effecting the degradation of these places as well as eutrophication of a large seaside lake. The Park employee explains, what the active protection of the breeding terrains relies on, why the meadows in the Park are mowed and why cattle grazing is needed? The area of an International Bird Sanctuary presented while the excursion, also comprised with protection in the framework of Ramsar Convention, has the priority significance as regards the birds species protection, particularly endangered of extinction, or periodically gathering in large flocks during their migration. 
While the journey binoculars and the key to recognize the birds species will prove useful. Covering the path in organised groups not larger than 15 - 20 people, is only possible with the Park employee after prior reservation of the time of classes. Before the commencement of the wandering a monumental Gothic church and an erratic bloc in Gardna Wielka are worth seeing with which a legend is connected regarding the construction of the chapel in Rowy.
